If looks could kill

Something happened to me today that made me really mad.  And if you know me, I dont get mad very often or easily.  I usally keep to my self and mind my own buisness but this REALLY bothered me!!
I was grocery shopping with my in-laws today at King Soopers, cheyenne was in the "car" in front of the shopping cart... You know, the carts that keep the little ones "busy" so you can actually do some shopping lol.
ANYWAY, Carson is in his carseat latched onto the shopping cart.  As we are checking out, this lady next to us glances over with a nasty look on her face and sees cheyenne playing in the car, looks up at carson (same look) and then looks at me YES WITH THE SAME LOOK and then whispers something to the other lady she is with.
This lady has no shame with  her "stank face" either cause she does it about three more times.
Now, I'm not sure why she gave me this awful look or what she was saying to her other lady friend but i'm assuming it has to do with me being a "young" mom and maybe that i let my child play in the car attached to the shopping cart OH YEAH and im assuming that because im young mom, im probably a single young mom. but lets get something straight, yes i am a young mom. and yes i am temporarily playing the role of a single mom because my HUSBAND is fighting for your freedom and democracy!
This is irratating for me because this is not the first time this has happened to me. after my son was born i went to enroll him into DEERS and this girl, also military, comes up and says "youre way too young to be a mom of two"

I have alot of respect for other women who are young and are taking care of their kids alone...since my husband is in the military, i do alot of this alone. i cant imagine having to do this all the time. it is alot of work and it is hard.  I bet they get the same crap and same looks that i got today..but remember THEY DO NOT KNOW YOU OR YOUR SITUATION!
these people do not know that i'm married, that my husband and i ahve been together for almost 7 years, that we wanted to have children young, that im just about done with school or that he was deployed. So i find it interesting that these people have it so easy to say things like that to me or give me the look of death.

Just had to get that out of my system...the way this lady glared at my kids and me really bothered me today...love to all the mommies out there! whatever your situation may be!

Half way there :]

I've never felt like ive accomplished so much until now.
My highschool sweetheart became the man of my dreams, we've overcome seperation thanks to military duty...bootcamp...underways...
we've sacrificed birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and a birth...we have two beautiful children and YES after almost 4 months...we have finally hit our halfway mark of this deployment!!!!
But wait it doesnt end there, im almost done with school, ive lost 34lbs since having my son 2 months ago and just recently i started my own cute little buisness making military support items.  I honestly dont understand how i make the time for all of this, but i can say that this all makes me happy...minus the fact that my husband can't be with us right now.
This all keeps me busy and keeps my mind off of this deployment.
Thinking about everything that i am doing makes me feel so accomplished...i overcame some of the hardest obstacles a military wife can go through.I DID IT...I DID!
i am so thankful for the strength god has blessed me with to able to do all of this.
GOD IS GOOD and i will NEVER doubt him.
Here's to the last half of this deployment!

BTW, here are some pictures my friend took for us to send to spencer :]

A Day At the Park...

One of the things i love about Colorado other than its amazing beauty is how often the weathere changes.  i like how its so unpredictable that we literally can go through all the seasons in one week.  We got our first snow fall a couple of weeks ago and then it rained a few days after while lately the sun has been strong enough that i had to crank up the A/C in the car but wait...was that ICE i just scrapped off my windsheild the other morning not to mention the wind that came with it...  like i said, SO unpredictable, i love it.  My bestfriend, Taylor, once told me that "If the weather is ridicously nice out, you better get your jackets."  she's so right.  If mother nature doesnt decide to change it's mind the at the last minute, the weather man predicts snow coming our way in a couple days.  This means, i gotta get as many pictures as i can of colorados beauty surrounding my munchkins before it's too late.  After all, San Diego doesnt have trees and colors like this!
I dressed my babes up in their "big sister and little brother" outfits and headed off to the park.  Since toddlers seem to be pretty independent and of course mine has "sass" my pictures didnt come out the way i wanted exactly, but the memories are just as important.  I just wish their daddy could have shared those memories with us.Although Carson is still a newborn and couldnt have enjoyed it as much as Cheyenne, he did seem to like looking at all the pretty colors fall has to offer while cheyenne was chasing ducks and sliding down the same slide for the one millionth time :] love love love being a mommy to my "things one and two"

Super mom status ; ]

SORRY...i know, i know, i suck and havent written in forever...
Baby Carson Ryder Schutte was born on August 24, 2011 at 12:59am.
The expierience was incredible and completely different then when i had Cheyenne.
Cheyenne was awful. i was in labor for almost 24 hours, was throwing up, had back labor, and had to push for almost 3 hours...AWFUL i tell you. But my sweet baby boy Carson was so nice to me and was only in labor for 8 hours and pushed that sucker out in ten minutes. Though my husband couldnt be there, i did get to hear his voice... he was allowed to call me at the hospital and i had my best friends in the room with me.
<3
[looks just like daddy when he was a baby]

SO...now Carson is almost 2 months old.  I havent had a chance to catch my breath and write because i've been in super mom mode.  A couple weeks after he was born he became extremely fussy and would throw up.  i found out he had a protein allergy which happens to run in my family also..so i changed his formula to soy and turns out he can't break down the proteins in soy to have bowl movements.  Now he's on special formula and is doing awesome :]  happy...healthy...sweet boy.

I also started classes again on September 19th which has also been keeping me busy. I'm in my fifth week out of nine of my second psychology class.  so far...so good! And when i get the chance, i exercise by taking the kids on 4 mile walks or (my recent favorite) go to zumba classes! i thank god for giving me the strength and the help i need to get me through all this but i especially thank both spencers family and my family for being there for me and helping me when i need it.

Care Packages!

SO, it has been just about three weeks since my husband has left for deployment and i have been one busy bee. First with having to move from San Diego to Colorado Springs, change PCM's for me and my daughter (which is so hard to find a Dr. at 36 weeks pregnant), deal with tricare and deers and just plain old trying to get settled in.  basically now...i just want this baby to come out :]  i am 38+2 weeks pregnant and let me tell you...my poor body can hardly handle this anymore.
the fatigue is wearing me down and i can hardly play with my daughter which makes me sad because i dont want her to think that i dont want to play with her....i just physically cant without feeling awful pain in my tailbone.Thank goodness for both me and my husbands family. they have all been amazing with helping me out and showing Cheyenne all the attention she deserves since i cant give her all of that.My husband and I are so lucky to have such wonderful family.
Anyway....point is....Baby Carson, im ready whenever you are!

So having said all that, i have been staying busy by preparing care packages for Spencer.i received an email this morning that he got his first package a few days ago!! he loved it.  I want to share the packages with all of you and i hope this could give inspiration to your own care packages as well!

Foiled.

The past month has been a train wreck. From having to sell my husband's POS car to the state to getting all the little bits and pieces of last minute deployment stuff together...meaning that the plan for me to stay in San Diego while my husband is gone for 7+ months on deployment is foiled.
I am now back in my home town of Colorado Springs with family to help me with the kiddos, which has been lovely since i am in my last stretch of the pregnancy and it is extremely hard to keep up with my 16 month old.
The send off for the CG-53 USS Mobile Bay was on July 27,2010 and i surprised myself...
i literally believed that i would be a basket case the entire day but i managed to keep myself together quite well... thats until i was getting ready for the actual departure, i was in my room and i could hear my husband sobbing as he was in our daughters room just down the hall.
That...broke me.
As much as i wanted to go in there and give them both a huge hug, i couldnt cause then i wouldnt have been able to get myself back together.
The send off is exactly as it seems...sad and long...
it wouldnt be the military if they didnt make you wait forever to find out when they would actually leave right? :]
Left and right i see friends and other families i knew also crying but the worst part of the entire day was hearing the younger children cry out to their daddy...
That...broke me again.
It was the saddest thing i have ever seen.thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes.

This deployment will be long...i've been without him for 6 months because of boot camp and school, but this time...ill have to give birth to our son without him, raise our kids, and still be his backbone and his bestfriend.this is going to be a challenge for the both of us but im excited, scared, and anxious until his arrival next year.
I love you so much spencer :]

Some pictures from the sendoff!!

The plan...maybe?

As most military wives are aware, there is no planning when it actually comes to the military.  Things never go as planned, they get postponed, changed...whatever.
Having said that, it is the exact reason why we still havent had a wedding ceremony.  I have not planned anything for birthdays, anniversaries, or other holidays like valentines day and mothers day because military duty comes first.  Many of us wives or girlfriends have gone through this or have gone through the change of orders or last minute deployments OR changed dates for deployments.  I cant even tell you how many times my husbands deployment has been rescheduled...march, to june..to august...now july.

OH and not to mention how many last minute underways we have gone through...
We found out yesterday that he leaves friday for an underway for three weeks but has duty thursday so i wont see him tomorrow night.
I'm trying not to complain because i love knowing that my husband is doing this for our family and for our nation and i am so proud of him for how hard he works, how hard he studies for school, and how he still comes home to our family with a smile and still has the energy to play with our 13 month old daughter before she goes to bed and spend time with me...everynight.

Yes, the military does compensate for how much we go through and im extremely thankful for everything we get out of it.  I have great things that i would not have on my own...a beautiful house, soon to be two kids with medical expenses fully covered and much more...
the real reason why i had to vent tonight though::::::

how do i prepare myself for this deployment...i dont even think anyone can prepare themselves to NOT have their bestfriend, their husband, their childrens father away from them for this long of a time...
I've been an army brat my whole life since my dad was in the army and i thought i would have this stuff down already...but i guess its not that easy.

SO...the plan for now...

Im styaing here in San Diego.  Alot of spouses go back to their home or record to be with family while their husband is away.  My mom and I have such a great relationship now than i did when i was in highschool and i know that going home will destroy our new relationship...i also need to stay away from my old habits considering i wasnt the sweetest or innocent child in the past.  I have my own family to look after now and we have a home. i need to start traditions here even if it means daddy will be away for awhile. this is going to be my biggest test for myself...probably the hardest.  with two kiddos around, im hoping it will help make things go by fast...

my friend said this once before...

"for a while the closet will be less than a few clothes,
the garage less than a few shoes,
the car less than a passenger,
our bed less than a lover,
our family less than the father...
and my everyday will be less than my soulmate and better half..."

With GOD i WILL get through this!

....all the way from San Diego
